Walnut Cutting Board
11.2020
Made for a required Woodworking class at San Diego State University. The problem I faced at home was never having enough space on my cutting board while cooking, always having to pause to sort ingredients into separate bowls or toss composting scraps. Also, the boards we have at home are all made of light-colored bamboo. Therefore, the goal for this project was to create a large, striking, dark wood cutting board that would be able to fit and be used inside my small kitchen.
Measuring - by -, it is composed mainly of luxurious walnut with two maple accent strips. It was then sanded to silky smooth perfection and finished with a beeswax wood finish.
