I am an artist, designer, and craftsperson located in San Diego, CA & I specialize in designing accessible user experiences that champion human-centered design.
Hi there! Thank you for looking through my portfolio! As mentioned above, I am a future-facing designer looking to ensure that my designs and workflows remain human-centered while still adapting to changing industry landscapes.
🤖 What is “human-centered” design? 🤖
Keeping design “human-centered” means that it prioritizes the values, needs, and well-being of all human beings. This means not using AI to replace artists and designers, but rather keeping it in the hands of real people, not computer code. However, it also means being able to adapt to changing industry landscapes, using new technologies to help artists and designers to do their jobs more efficiently.
👨🏻🦽 What makes a design “accessible?” 👩🏽🦽➡️
An accessible design is a web, print, or experiential design that can be easily understood and enjoyed by everyone — regardless of their physical or mental capabilities! In many cases, accessible designs don’t just benefit the differently abled, they end up benefiting everyone! (For example: curb ramps for wheelchair users ALSO make it easier for bike riders, parents with strollers, and those with shopping trolleys to navigate crosswalks!)
